host 2014 USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship in Deal, N.J

Hollywood Golf Club, a member-owned club nestled in New Jersey's Monmouth County, was redesigned by Walter J. Travis in 1917 and restored by Rees Jones in 1998. Considered one of the state's top callaway razr x irons courses, Hollywood G.C. has fast, undulating bentgrass greens and well-bunkered fairways. Jones' restoration brought wind back into play, a feature of Travis' design, and allowed the native grasses to flourish, creating a dramatic look.

The USGA is a global leader in the development and support of sustainable golf course management practices. It serves as a primary steward for the game's history and funds an ongoing "For the Good of the Game" charitable giving program. Additionally, the USGA's Course Rating and Handicap systems are used on six continents in more than 50 countries.

The USGA conducts the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open, as well as 10 national amateur championships, two state team championships and international matches. Together with The R&A, the USGA governs the game worldwide, jointly administering the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, Equipment Standards and World Amateur Golf Rankings. The USGA's working jurisdiction comprises the United States, its territories and Mexico.

The club has hosted many notable matches and tournaments including the 1925 Met Amateur, conducted by the Metropolitan Golf Association, and the 1956, 1986 and 2002 New Jersey State Men's callaway diablo edge irons Amateurs. In addition, the club was the site of the 1906 and 1991 Met Open, the 2006 and 2011 New Jersey State Open, the 2007 New Jersey State Women's Amateur and the 2008 Met Men's Senior Open. In 2012, Hollywood G.C. will host the 110th Met Amateur Championship.

Approximately 50 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia, Hollywood Golf Club hosted the U.S. Women's Amateur in 1921. Marion Hollins defeated Alexa Stirling, 5 and 4, in the championship's first 36-hole final. Hollins ended Stirling's run of three discount golf clubs consecutive U.S. Women's Amateur Championships, and Hollins went on to become the captain of the 1932 USA Curtis Cup Team.

The USGA Senior Women's Amateur was first played in 1962. The championship is open to female amateurs age 50 and older with a USGA Handicap Index® not exceeding 18.4. In 2012, the USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship will be played at Hershey (Pa.) Country Club from Sept. 8-13. The 2013 championship will be played Sept. 21-26 at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif.
