Woods' most important achievements Is not about golf

"Well, I won a tournament already," he said. "I think I'm headed in the right direction. I went through this in 2000. I didn't win for a couple of months and the word 'slump' came about."

What is unfortunate is Woods' performance and tantrums overshadow what he's trying to accomplish off the course — not the behavior that ended his marriage, but the ambitious projects of the Tiger Woods Foundation.

If so, Woods has accomplished more in taylormade burner superfast 2.0 driver than almost any competitor in the game's history.

But since his victory this year, Woods has finished tied for 40th twice and missed a cut. There also were his infamous temper tantrums at the Master's.

College success requires more than money. Earl Woods Scholarship recipients, who attend some of the country's most prestigious universities in need of academic, emotional and moral support, are matched with a student mentor.

His every swing, shot, hole, round and reaction are dissected.

TWF has established Tiger Woods Learning Centers in Washington and Orange County, Calif. The programs seek to raise the educational achievements of students in grades five through 12.

In 2000, a long time ago in golf years, each week it was Tiger against the field, and taking Woods was a pretty good bet.

"That's the nature of the business, of the 24-hour news cycle," Woods said. "You've got to stand out to get people to your site. That's why taylormade burner superfast 2.0 fairway wood there is the criticism there is."

Now, he's mortal. He's 36. He has a reconstructed knee and a reconstructed swing.

Still, his best moments might be behind him.

Earl Woods Scholarships — named for Woods' late father — provide $5,000 per year to 70 college students, and counting, plus expenses for travel, books and incidentals.

His most important achievements, though, will not be on the course.

"They don't need me winning tournaments. They don't need me on the golf course, period.

This is an excellent, full-service discount golf clubs program. Too often, its accomplishments are lost amid the spectacle of Woods missing a cut or throwing a club in anger.

"This is about education, about kids making something of themselves and giving back."

The ownership dispute for the Olympic golf course continues

The golf course is an undertaking exclusively private, which will be developed by the Rio 2016 Committee,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.

Local Olympic organizers said they expect the contracts for the course to be finalized by the end of June, and discount golf clubs that the city wouldn’t be directly involved even though it was responsible for choosing the land and facilitating the agreement.

The city recently told The Associated Press that it was “evaluating the measures it will take” regarding the land dispute.

That land decision is in the hands of Brazil’s Higher Court of Justice, and a final ruling could take months or even years. Still, the city says it has no plan B for the golf course and has not looked at alternatives to build the course which will mark the sport’s return to the Olympics after more than 100 years.

The city said it hasn’t signed any contracts for the golf course because it will be a private undertaking. It had publicly announced earlier this year, however, that it made an agreement with the land owner to have the course built on it. It said it would alter some of the building requirements in the area and, in exchange, the land owner and a construction company would pay for the $30 million course.

The International Golf Federation Taylormade Rocketballz Irons recently said construction on the course is expected to start around October, and the goal is to have it ready for test events early in 2015.

The city has said before that it was satisfied with Pasquale’s proof of ownership and that he had all the needed documents over the land.

Elmway Participacoes has been trying to claim ownership of the land for the past three years. The other alleged owner, entrepreneur Pasquale Mauro, has several properties in the region and has won many similar disputes.

American designer Gil Hanse, who was picked to build the course, recently acknowledged that his project was based entirely on the land under dispute and that any changes would force him to start from scratch.

Golf made its debut at the second modern Olympics in Paris in 1900, but was removed after the 1904 St. Louis Games. It was reinstated in a vote by the International Olympic Committee TaylorMade R11S Driver in 2009 and has a spot guaranteed in 2020, but a good impression in Rio will be critical in keeping the sport in the games beyond that. Another IOC vote on adding or deleting sports is scheduled for 2017.

The contracts for the golf course will involve the Rio 2016 Committee, an association that will run the course, the construction company and the developer who says he currently owns the land.

Tiger complained about the pace of play on the PGA Tour

The focus last week at the TPC Sawgrass eventually returned to the guy holding the trophy, as it should. The PGA Tour had reason to celebrate for a couple of reasons. It had a worthy champion in Matt Kuchar, who won the money title two years ago and has an infectious smile that makes him a fan favorite. The tournament also finished on Sunday.

In fact, the topic came up on the eve of The Players Championship when commissioner Tim Finchem was taylormade burner superfast 2.0 fairway wood asked if the PGA Tour felt a sense of urgency to play faster and an obligation to set an example for golfers everywhere. His answer included this nugget that made little sense.

"We elect not to do that," Finchem said. "Because as much as we like to see a stronger pace of play, the playing opportunities for the number of players we have had are more important. We'll generate the playing opportunities first, and take our lumps second. It's as simple as that."

with penalty shots," Finchem said. "But I don't think penalty shots make a difference, to be honest with you."

Donald said what annoys him most is when a player does not starting thinking about his next shot until it's his turn. The way it has gone for the last 20 years, why hurry when on one else does?

Stewart Cink was asked about progress with the pace of play. A few years ago, he was fined $20,000 for getting put on the clock 10 times in a season, and he has worked to improve.

When he finished The Players Championship on Sunday, Woods measured progress with one word.

Ask almost any rules officials and they would say the size of fields make it nearly impossible to get around in a reasonable time. Can anyone remember the last time the cut was made on a Ping G15 Fairway Wood Friday at Riviera? That's why the Masters gets nervous when its field size approaches 100 players.

Sure, it's easy to pick on Na. He is changing his swing and fighting some demons to get comfortable over the ball. He became a sympathetic figure to some in the media for his honesty and his pledge to try harder, though it should be pointed out that Na has been slow ever since he joined the PGA Tour. Not so sympathetic were some in the gallery who shouted out, "Pull the trigger!" and "Hit it!" to reverse effect. He had to back off shots and wound up taking even longer.

This week at the Byron Nelson Championship marks the 20-year anniversary of the last time a PGA Tour was assessed a one-shot penalty for taking too much time. That was Dillard Pruitt, now a rules official who carries a stopwatch. That one stroke wound up costing him $9,600 - when $9,600 actually meant something. He was fined $1,000 and relegated to play in the last group for the next two weeks.

Luke Donald was on holiday in Barbados when he was watching the final round of the season opener in Hawaii, which featured Na, Jonathan Byrd, Ben Crane and Webb Simpson in the last four groups. He took to Twitter and ended one plea by saying, "Slow play is killing our sport."

"We know when they drive up and tell us to hurry up, it means nothing," Geoff Ogilvy said. "When I first came out and someone told me to hurry up, I got all flustered and was rushing. Now, it's a laugh. Yeah, we'll try. But some guys don't even try because they don't do anything.

Solutions are not that easy to find or this would have been fixed years ago. And it's not fair to compare the pace discount golf clubs on tour with how long it takes to play golf at your local club. In recreational golf, the pins aren't four paces from the edge of the green, tucked behind bunkers. The greens aren't as firm as a hardwood floor. A putt isn't worth $399,000, which is what it cost Rickie Fowler when he missed an 8-footer on his last hole.

UGA Golf Course will keep in place

“I’d say we have had an inredible experience with it the last three years,” Doherty said. “Although, the future still isn’t decided. If UGA doesn’t continue to do it, there’s no chance we will do it. But if UGA does do it, they probably won’t do it without us. There’s a little bit of a tag-team aspect for us to figure out, and that won’t happen until the tournament is over, but we would love to do it again.”

“The two companies we’re talking to are good companies, publicly held companies, and the positive thing is that there are no conflicts in terms of sponsorships locally, so it opens up a whole new sector or sponsors we were unable to prospect for with Mizuno MX-1000 irons Nationwide,” Calfee said. “Before, that ruled out a lot of financial service companies or insurance companies, so that’s going to be a real positive for our tournaments to generate and grow revenues.”

The auxiliary department will put together a proposal on how to run the tournament in the future and meet with university administrators before going forward, said George Stafford, tournament chairman and Georgia’s associate vice president for auxillary and administrative services.

All parties said the early talks have been “encouraging” and that they will begin meeting to hash out the details shortly after the conclusion of the tournament, which began Thursday and runs through Sunday at the UGA Golf Course.

Finding more sponsors could soon become easier as Nationwide Insurance is in its final year of tour sponsorship. Nationwide Tour president Bill Calfee said his organization is in final talks with two potentional sponsors, neither of which has been announced, and expects to see more advertising opportunities to open up if an agreement is reached with one of them.

To alleviate some of the financial concerns, Georgia could begin asking for more from its sponsors or try to find more Ping G15 Fairway Wood business to get on board, an issue Stafford and Doherty said will be a focal point of their discussions.

“We have to determine from the university’s standpoint if it makes sense for us to continue,” Stafford said. “We’re not into doing things if we don’t do them well, and we think we’re doing well on this. We have to determine if, financially, it makes sense, and fortunately this year we’re doing well. We are where we probably ought to be after three years.”

“We think that, if we’re fortunate enough to continue this, we can do even more,” Stafford said. “I feel like it’s a mature event, even after three years. This year it seems like everything is running awfully well, knock on wood. We’ve gone through a lot of the issue, so we feel pretty good.”

“Going forward, we’ve got to make sure we have the sponsors in place, so that we can meet the obligations of putting discount golf clubs on an event like this,” Stafford said. “And we’ll continue to have those conversations with sponsors. Us, the tour and our major sponsors are in a three-way conversation, and we’re always looking out there for new people to get involved.”

“The 2013 tournament starts for us Monday,” Stafford said. “We can wait a while, but there’s a lot we need to go ahead and start doing. I would hope that within the next month or so we’ll have a pretty good idea. No more than a month to six weeks, I think.”

a great player emerged from the Northwest

"Is it a disadvantage? Maybe the opposite," said rising PGA Tour star Kyle Stanley. "It teaches you to battle the elements a little bit, and it prepares you for all types of golfing conditions."

"Having someone on the Tour like Fred Couples, who was a glamorous player, being from Seattle, helped inspire Ryan to think that maybe he could do it too," said Mike Moore, Ryan's father, who owned The Classic in Spanaway, the course Ryan grew up playing.

"Having someone on the Tour like Fred Couples, who was a glamorous player, being from Seattle, helped inspire Ryan to  Mizuno JPX-800 Irons think that maybe he could do it too," said Mike Moore, Ryan's father, who owned The Classic in Spanaway, the course Ryan grew up playing.

"Being from the Northwest, you have to learn how to practice more efficiently," said Moore, who won the 2004 U.S. Amateur. "There aren't 14-day forecasts of nothing but sun, so you have to do more in short periods of time, and I still had that in my system when I went to Las Vegas."

"On a nice day, I could hit drives 300 or 350 yards, then certain days I would have a hard time driving it 250," he said. "It could be a totally different course. And the small green sizes made me a good iron player. I learned how to hit a 7-iron onto the small greens."

"Being from the Northwest, you have to learn how to practice more efficiently," said Moore, who won the 2004 U.S. Amateur. "There aren't 14-day forecasts of nothing but sun, so you have to Mizuno MX-1000 irons do more in short periods of time, and I still had that in my system when I went to Las Vegas."

For years, Couples carried the Northwest mantle nearly by himself. Now he has plenty of help.

The University of Washington was not a power when Couples left O'Dea High School in Seattle to play at Houston.

More and more, they are performing well — just like the local players at the highest level.

"It reminds me of (Seattle's) Broadmoor Country Club," he said.

"I am sure if I had gone to discount golf clubs Washington, I would have become the same player," he said.

More and more, they are performing well — just like the local players at the highest level.

Couples said the conditions he faced at Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle served him well.

"You can still live here and play on the Tour," Bies said. "I don't think it's a disadvantage at all. I don't believe you need to play every day, especially after you develop your game. It's good to get away. Look at Steve Stricker, who lives in Wisconsin. Living in a place where you can't play every day — it gives you a break."

Saguaro is no exception to golf rules

The sixth is a great risk-reward par-four. Doglegging to the right, the player has the option of biting off as much as possible in efforts to leave a shorter approach shot. To cut the corner, the drive must clear the desert and a series of bunkers guarding the fairway. Gambling in the resort's casino has more appeal than that shot. Play it safe and 200-plus awaits. Hitting the green will be difficult at just 29 yards in depth, the smallest on the course. If you miss the surface, getting up and down should not be a problem as only long and left will produce a big number.

The inward nine begins with another split fairway. This time around, however, it's a par-five of 566 yards with a desert garden of saguaro (cactus) and sand 220 yards out. There's no chance at getting home in two, so lay up short of the fairway bunkers, right and left of Ping G20 irons the fairway and you'll have a simple sand wedge of 100 yards. The putting surface is very undulating and 42 paces in length, so an easy par ... won't be.

No. 17 is another long par-five that plays downhill all the way from tee to green. Bending slightly to the left, your tee shot must avoid sand left and a long bunker right, some 250 yards from the tips. Laying up is not so easy, as the fairway narrows in the landing area. A successful second will leave a wedge to a long (43 paces in length), but narrow green that slopes from back to front. Four is a definite possibility, but so is seven.

A bit of reprieve on the second, as this slight, dogleg right is just 336 yards in length. The difference here is that the fairway is tighter, slopes from left to right and has several bunkers strategically placed in the landing zone. Although you'll have a short iron in, the green is one of the longest on the course at 39 paces in length, with a ridge running from top to bottom. Avoid the right side, as sand will dictate your score.

The seventh can best be described as fun and games. At just 331 yards, it can be driveable for the big boys, although it's uphill, while the not-so stout, can get home if they play the correct tees. If you decide not to "Mess with the Zohan" - yes, a little Adam Sandler reference - you can make birdie the old fashioned way. Just a long iron off the tee will leave Ping G20 driver less than a hundred yards in. So if you're accurate with the wedge, not a bad play. If you decide to go for it, you'll have to contend with a quartet of pot bunkers dotted near and in front of the green. At 38 paces, the putting surface is the longest on the front nine, but this is birdie time.

From one of the longest par-threes to the second-longest par-four on the Saguaro course, the 12th is a wonderful 476-yarder that requires two stellar shots for success. The tee shot is one of the toughest, as the fairway is quite narrow in spots and pinched within sand on either side. A fairly long iron or hybrid will be needed to reach the second-longest green on the course. The lone bonus on the 47-yard long putting surface is that it's devoid of sand.

From top to bottom, from tee to green, We-Ko-Pa's layouts are a must to play over and over and over again. The conditioning of the courses are second to none. Fairways are as green as emeralds, desert scrub as difficult as the Sahara and greens as smooth as glass. And beauty? Well, it's not Shadow Creek but it is one of the most scenic courses in the "Grand Canyon" state. At any time during your round, glance around and take notice of "Four Peaks Mountain" to the east or Red Mountain south and the McDowell Mountains to the west.

Quite a sight. The outward nine closes with a long par-four and a split fairway divided by a series of three bunkers discount golf clubs 260 yards out. Ample room right and left but missing off to the right could cause headaches due to one of only two water hazards on the course. The putting surface is slightly elevated and protected nicely by three sand traps. If you're not ready to sell your clubs, read on.

The shortest hole on the course, the 14th is a downhill par-three with one of the bigger greens, at 44 yards in length. The surface is two- tiered, running back to front, and is guarded by two-deep and large bunkers left and back. Choosing the right club is of utmost importance, so if the wind is up, this could plays as one of the hardest holes instead of the easiest on the card.

The first round of this tournament is dullness

McIlroy lurks at 1-under. Tiger is a even-par (though he drove the ball like he was 7-over). Mickelson is at 2-over. Them can continue to end the weekend smooching a trophy.

But when's the very last time Woods, who said he struggled in his pre-round warm-up, had to take two unplayable lies in a round? It happened Thursday.

"Today I squeezed a great deal out of TaylorMade R11S Driver that round," said Woods. "Didn't hit it good at all."

When's the very last time up to a 100 people couldn't discover a Phil tee shot? It happened Thursday, as patrons scoured the pine needles and bushes like prison hound dogs looking for Mickelson's drive on No. 10. They never think it is.

Didn't matter. Lefty place on the happy face for Day Two.

"And with a hot round [Friday], I'll get back inside for your weekend," said Mickelson. "I realize that heading in I have been previously playing well."

And while we're talking about No. 10, McIlroy's first drive there competing since last year's meltdown would have been a directional breakthrough. This year: wayyyy left to Peek Cabin. In 2012: kind of right and in the first cut possibly even.

"I was definitely erring on the right-hand side," said McIlroy, who parred the hole as an alternative to tripling it like he did a year ago.

There is more enjoyable. Patrick Cantlay, a UCLA sophomore as well as the No. 1-ranked amateur on the globe, is tied for 14th at 1-under. Randy Lewis, a 54-year-old amateur, shot 9-over-par and Mizuno MP 53 Irons said, "That's my all-time favorite 81."

Like it.

And i really like that for two hours approximately, that Luke Donald's scorecard was under review by committee officials? In the long run, the controversy appeared as the result of "administrative error." Or that Henrik Stenson led the tournament until he left the 18th hole which has a discount golf clubs quad-8 -- with no penalty stroke or lost ball?

"You create a little mistake and then you compound it with another, also it just keeps on snowballing," said Stenson. "And I acquired a snowman in the end. You realize, what to do."

Harrington is preparing for Irish Open

Harrington couldn't have expected them to be a greater venue and can't wait to get started.

"There are a number of things that make Portrush so special," the Irishman told Europeantour.com. "It's an extremely fair test of golf - if you hit good shots you'll be rewarded with birdies, but hit bad ones and you'll increases bogeys or double bogeys. You always feel as if you may make a score round there, however it is less easy as you think, so you've just received Ping G20 irons to try and be fearless.

"It's another very scenic place to play golf, by incorporating stunning views. In the past I played a great deal of amateur tournaments there, and the atmosphere was always first rate. The course is correct inside the town which can be usually buzzing, to be able a venue it offers everything going for it."

Harrington is going to be accompanied by Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy - major winners all - at Royal Portrush Golf-club, and expects the Northern Irish crowds to get in full support.

"The people of Northern Ireland have always loved their golf," he was quoted saying. "They always appeared in great numbers to support amateur events, so in some ways taking the Irish Open to Portrush is really a reward for his or her support and loyalty. I can guarantee Ping G20 driver the 2010 Irish Open is going to be as well-attended as any in the past, which should guarantee an excellent atmosphere.

"I realize that the majority of the tickets have been sold already and also you can't get yourself a hotel room in the town, which tells you everything you should find out about how well-received it has been. It is usually readily available from Belfast, so I'm expecting big crowds in the tournament week."

With a quality field expected, Harrington knows buying his second Irish Open title won't be any easy feat.

He explained: "I came all-around winning northern Ireland Amateur Open a reasonable few times but never quite managed it, in order to win the very first Irish Ready to accept be held in discount golf clubs Northern Ireland in my lifetime can be very special.

"But using the company's field, winning certainly defintely won't be easy. The opportunity test yourself a links golf course within the run-up to The Open is really a definite advantage, that i'm sure you will see lots of the big guns from Europe heading up to Portrush."

residents are angry over the removal of a number of trees from the golf course

Smith, a Pinehurst resident who's taken it upon herself to help you organize a nearby, said folks are upset about everything has happened, especially since the end of February if the trees were lessen.

"This was our forever home, and after this our forever property is looking pretty trashy," Smith said.

But as 2009, she and her husband, an avid golfer, are saddened their neighborhood has become adversely affected, and angry that particular company didn't protect those who live there.

"To drive by and find out that they have trashed that whole area is really depressing," Bourne said.

The Atascocita The game and Country Club was built-in 1956 and over time has grown to incorporate more than 450 lots surrounding the golf course, and over 1,600 homes in the Pinehurst community.

In '09, Pinehurst Trail Holdings LLC, purchased the course and country club, allegedly with the expectation of Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons revitalizing the 50 yr old facility.

However, this allegedly didn't create the needed capital, so Joe Stunja and John Hammond, who from the Pinehurst Trails Holdings LLC, often referred to as PTH, opted to market off portions of the course, in what attorney Kim Spurlock known as a parceling plan.

Spurlock, who represents the residents who filed your initial lawsuit against PTH this year, said the parcels of land may be designated for commercial use if sold.

"Some of this land is restricted to greens don't use anything but, plus some of it just isn't," Spurlock said.

The group, which is expected to come back in the courtroom at the conclusion of March, desires for a ruling making all the land exclusive for course don't use anything but.

As if the judge case has not been enough for concern, PTH began cutting down trees along the greens.

Residents said they might begin to see the have to reduce some trees which died during last year's record drought, but PTH also cut down healthy trees, hauled off of the healthy trees, but left the brush and massive piles of dead trees behind.

Residents contacted the Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services division and were advised that taylormade burner superfast 2.0 driver PTH had 1 month to eliminate the debris, or it will be fined.

Sparky Nolan, president from the Kingwood Chamber of Commerce, arrived merely out of curiosity, but was struck through the number of protestors and the support they received.

"Joe (Stunja), before, has become a fairly reasonable man," Nolan said. "This can be a hot topic for the reason that community has a specific need, and contains not been answered (correctly). These individuals bought this property hoping this amenity (the the game) would enhance their discount golf clubs property value rather than drag it down."

Ed Miller, that has lived inside the neighborhood since 1980, has seen the area differ from a neighborhood that have a country club with dining, swimming, tennis and 27 holes of golf, for the club house and also other amenities leased over to the very best bidder, along with the former the game planned to be parceled out for commercial development.

golf will be included in the 2016 Games

Couple of years later, Margaret married newspaper columnist, Finley Peter Dunne. As one of Dunne's biographers, Charles Fanning, notes in Peter Finley Dunne and Mr. Dooley: The Chicago Years, Dunne wrote numerous columns underneath the pseudonym, Mr. Dooley. One of the admonitions along with other sage observations that they coined as part of his columns were "politics ain't beanbag," "all politics is local," "trust everyone, but cut the cards" and "you usually leads a person on the university nevertheless, you can't make him think." He was also the first to include on the list of required TaylorMade RocketBallZ Driver the press, "comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable." Like his partner, Margaret, Dunne was a serious golfer who was simply a founding member, as well as Abraham Lincoln's son, Robert, from the National Golf Links on New york, manufactured by the legendary golf architect Charles Blair Macdonald.

Unlike Margaret, Dunne's fame would not flow from his golfing prowess but from your wit and wisdom he dispensed in his newspaper and magazine columns. As the press of his day only agreed to be as merciless in the treatments for politicians because it is today -- the terms "muckraker," and "yellow journalism" having first been applied then -- Dunne confined himself to civil and humorous observations that struck a responsive chord but failed to offend. For instance, as Elmer Ellis, another of Dunne's biographers, records in Mr. Dooley's America: A lifetime of Finley Peter Dunne, he frequently criticized President Theodore Roosevelt. On one such column, he lampooned Roosevelt's legendary boundless energy and big variety of interests.

Obama apparently enjoyed this type of tongue-in-cheek commentary up to Dunne's readers did. It is often some time since we had a Republican president or candidate which has a love TaylorMade R11S Driver of life, not to say a polymath like Roosevelt. We will also take advantage of more columnists like Finley Peter Dunne.

Following your Paris event in 1900, golf was an Olympic sport just once more, in 1904, in the event the summer games were held in St. Louis within that city's World's Fair. The American team did well, with George Lyon winning the men's gold medal. The activity has not been contained in the Olympics subsequently. However, having a resurging Padraig harrington reportedly already devoted to play with countless other gifted American golfers -- people -- available, maybe we can repeat what's not happened in additional than Century -- gold medals in golf. Obviously, that won't be so simple today since, unlike 1900 and 1904, rivaling our planet's top golfers "ain't beanbag."

Spain looks like it's a happy hunting ground for Manassero - the very first of his two European tour victories came at the Castello Masters really.

"This is quite much like Castellon - a little bit more hilly maybe," he explained.

"It's my first time at Aloha. This system suits my game since it is shortly, and i also don't have to hit 300 yards to succeed in the par fives. You'll need accurate shots and a good strategy, i love this particular kind of course.

"You ought to squeeze ball in play after which do well around the greens. Used to do just about everything right in addition to one shot.

"The key today was my putting. I created a couple of Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons 20 footers and placed the ball for the right spots."

At 63rd on the planet rankings, Manassero retains the opportunity to climb in the top 50 should he win here soon, which may see him result in the shortlist for automatic Masters qualification.

It won't be his first appearance at Augusta, however - he allowed to play there this season since the British amateur champion and finished a more than respectable 36th.

Rocketballz Irons give you more distance

TaylorMade even advertises that the new RBZ 3-wood will generate an additional 17 yards in distance -- a fascinating claim that they can golfers of levels obsessively consumed with gaining more distance.

"We're advertising 17 yards because legally that's all we're in a position to advertise, but a majority of when we've done 1-on-1 [testing], this has been 20 to 26 yards," said Tom Olsavsky, TaylorMade's senior director of product creation. "When we tested it during our demo day in Orlando [at the PGA Merchandise Show], the average was 28.6 yards longer. We've never had a rise prefer that. Never.

"The last real begin performance is when we went in the standard drivers to high-COR drivers, understanding that was ready 12 yards with a driver."

The COR is coefficient of restitution, the so-called "trampoline effect" that measures the force transfer whenever a golf ball collides using the clubface. Greater souped up that is transferred in the face, the farther the ball can travel.

The United States Golf Association has placed Taylormade Rocketballz Irons a COR limit of .830 on all clubs (1.000 is maximum transfer), though it is normally linked to drivers. As yet.

By making a deeper face and moving the middle of gravity better the front from the clubhead, TaylorMade surely could improve the COR from .780 in its former Burner fairway model to between .810-.813 in its new RBZ fairway metal. That increase allows the ball to come over face with greater speed but in addition decreases the spin rate on your ball by a minimum of 1,000 rpm. The less a ball spins, the farther it travels.

RocketBallz not merely is rocketing balls greater distances; it really is skyrocketing sales and heightening requirement for fairway metals -- a site usually restricted to high-end, big-headed drivers. Golf Galaxy, the leading golf retailer in Western Pennsylvania, said hello is selling 5 times the number of RBZ fairway metals than some other model.

"It's really been a breakthrough," said Olsavsky, brother of Steelers assistant coach Jerry Olsavsky. "We haven't seen this kind of breakthrough in Two decades, these kinds of start ping g15 driver performance, probably because the first steel fairway wood and maybe even to the Big Bertha fairway wood in the early '90s. We haven't seen it since there wasn't such a jump in playability."

TaylorMade officially launched the modern fairway metal with the WGC-Cadillac Championship being held at Doral, operating their potential customers wearing hats with "17" on the front. But that number represents the distance the average player will gain; PGA Tour players are hitting it much farther. Dustin Johnson was hitting his 3-metal so far at Pebble Beach a few weeks ago, he had to scale back to a 5-metal.

A pending merger involving the title sponsor and Pittsburgh's rich tradition of carrying around major championships will be the significant reasons.

The tournament -- among five majors for the Champions Tour -- has bounced from different sites days gone by discount golf clubs five-years after working 17 consecutive years at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Mich.

Constellation Energy continues to be the title sponsor yesteryear 5yrs, but the clients are merging with Exelon. That pending partnership created some uncertainty in regards to the future of its title sponsorship with the Champions Tour, causing a delay to locate a web site to the 2012 tournament.

"Pittsburgh became an appealing market because, with everything happening with all the energy situation in Western Pennsylvania, it looked like may well location to land to the title sponsor from the golf tournament," said Steve Schoenfeld, executive tournament director for your Constellation Energy Players Championship. "And, as you may know, they've got supported golf tournaments in the past with the U.S. Opens which have come through. They're very excited about sports generally speaking. And Fox Chapel includes a great track record of being a great golf course."

golf in Japan has long had a reputation for being polite

Just away from reach from the commute schedules, meetings and drab office buildings, numerous manicured courses dot the landscape of Japan (much for this as a small country), just waiting to supply weekend warriors a breather from city life.

"Golf is often a sport that you simply basically need to have a specific amount of greenbacks to experience, so you will find there's tendency that men inside their 40s, who can afford it, get involved in it," says Weekly Golf Digest's Yukiyo Inagaki.

"Maybe younger people can't really manage to, consider some began playing as children, like pro golfer Ryo Ishikawa, lots of people are playing in their teen years. Thus, japan golf scene is Taylormade R11 irons filled with players are either very young or those who are past their 40s."

There is certainly, obviously, also plenty of room for the reason that equation for visiting golfers trying to find 18 holes of the Sunday, but where you should tee off? Here's our quick-start self-help guide to finding your own good walk spoiled? any place in Japan.

"This ensures that average travel times are an hour or two, one way, on the high- to mid-range courses, so there's two hours a minimum of on your own day through the get-go.

"Most clubs could have a shuttle service from your nearest stop, though they often demand a Taylormade R11 driver reservation. With respect to the club, you can anticipate a couple.5-hour front nine followed by a mandatory lunch hour (40 minutes to an hour) then the second half. So, we?¡¥re at six hours now, plus travel."

Which is exactly the start of fun.

"After a round, some people like to soak within the hot bath to get a bit, then it's time to square up the tab, which may often run 15,000-20,000, based on to view the leonids you go, and just how many beers you had at lunch," says Canadian Daily Asahi sportswriter Rob Smaal.

"Most Japanese clubs have decrepitly old rental sets and won't have shoes with your size, so be prepared," Galloway advises.

"However, I often remind myself that basically any set of clubs, regardless of age, can do sub-par rounds. It really depends who's on the business end ones."

Also, even though some Japanese players aren't up-to-date on the right course manners regarding fixing marks on greens and raking bunkers, things caddies did previously, it never hurts to accomplish account.

"In other countries, we are saying fix yours plus two others, Galloway says -- a technique that will greatly assist with the locals.

Next, an amazing rule -- singles usually are not allowed when golfing in Japan; it?¡¥s groups only.

"Here in Japan they don't really have discount golf clubs starters who come up with groups, you need to be a twosome minimum," Galloway says.

"This happens because people have tended to have an account for the course and joining would be like signing up for business meeting.

city’s two golf courses need more money

This expansion occurred just before the start of the international financial crisis in 2008 and the number of rounds played dropped significantly and never recovered. Paying for that expansion of the Doon Valley Golf Course increased costs at the same time as revenues dropped.

Last year, the golf operations paid $265,000 on the loan that financed the Doon expansion. Without that payment the golf operations would have been in the black.

The Rockway Golf Course, which was discount golf clubs built as a city-owned facility in 1935 as a make-work project, is in the ward represented by Coun. Frank Etherington.

I honestly don’t know,” Etherington said. “I would need to see a lot more evidence to show it is worth investing more money in either golf course.”

There are many recommendations that could be implemented right away, but city councillors need to approve them, said Kim Kugler, the city staffer who oversees the enterprises division, which includes the golf courses.

We are looking for direction to keep operating and moving in the direction we are,” Kugler said.

What people don’t understand is that our revenues are exceeding our expenses, it’s just how we choose to put revenues into the city budget and how much benefit we have had over the years in reducing the tax rate,” Kugler said.

The golf courses need a TaylorMade RocketBallZ fairway wood  modern telephone system that includes an automated attendant and voice mail, say the consultants.

The marketing budget should be increased to $75,000, up from $40,000 a year, and include email marketing from a larger email database.

Social media is currently one of the strongest and most cost-effective marketing media for golf,” say the consultants.

The two golf courses lost money for the first time in 2010 — Rockway lost $84,472 and Doon Valley lost $35,240. Profits started to slide after 2008, when the international financial crisis hit.

Golf revenue peaked in 2007 at $3.2 million. By 2010 it was down to $2.9 million. Rockway is the source of most of the decline in the past two years — $208,982.

As a result, the City of Kitchener had TaylorMade RocketBallZ Driver the municipal golf operations pay an annual dividend to city coffers equivalent to property and business taxes paid by private courses. During the past 10 years that annual dividend exceeded the minimum levels by more than $1 million.

That’s what needs to be reviewed and take a look at a more sustainable future of the golf courses because the marketplace has changed,” Zehr said.

There are lots of competing golf courses within 25 kilometres of Doon Valley and Rockway — 33.
